Who is Old Ben?

Old Ben was an enormous steer, born just north of Kokomo in 1902. He grew to approximately 4,700 pounds and 16 1/4 feet long from nose to tip of his tail by 1910. That year Ben slipped on the ice and broke a leg and was euthanized. A taxidermist was hired to stuff Ben and some years later he ended up in Kokomo's Highland Park.
